C5MI has worked with the Defense Logistics Agency and SAP to facilitate the migration to the SAP S/4HANA enterprise resource planning software to advance the Department of Defense’s digital transformation efforts.
The IT services provider said Friday the S/4 migration as part of DLA’s SAP Warehouse Management System, or WMS, deployment effort kicked off in late November.
“The S/4 upgrade within the DLA’s SAP WMS is a tremendous accomplishment for C5MI, SAP, and DLA. It opens the door and creates the foundation for the broader DLA transformation initiatives, allowing the agency to optimize their world-class support to the Warfighter,” said Derek Dyer, president and co-founder of SAP partner C5MI.
Out of 125 sites on DLA’s roadmap, 86 sites have transitioned to S/4 well before the end-of-service deadline for SAP Business Suite 2027 when SAP will end support for legacy ERP platforms.
The S/4 migration in the middle of WMS deployment could help DLA accelerate analytics and predictive maintenance efforts.
What Does S/4HANA Do?
S/4HANA is an ERP software offering designed to unify business processes and analyze data in real time using machine learning. It can be deployed on premises or in the cloud.
