VideoRay to Build Underwater ROVs for Navy Under $93M Contract

VideoRay will produce and deliver remotely operated underwater vehicles for the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Expeditionary Standoff Response program under a five-year, $92.7 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The contractor will provide hardware and software components and perform repair and training services to produce and sustain the MK20 Defender remotely operated vehicles for the Navy’s explosive ordnance disposal units, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Work will primarily occur in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, through May 2029.

Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific awarded the contract on a sole source basis and will obligate funds upon the issuance of each delivery order.

The Navy’s MK20 Defender ROV is based on VideoRay’s Mission Specialist Defender platform and is designed to locate and neutralize underwater mines.
