Amtec Secures $819M Army Training Ammo Supply Contract

Amtec, a National Defense Corp. company, will supply high-velocity training rounds to the U.S. Army under a five-year, $818.9 million contract.

Army Contracting Command received two bids for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via the internet and will determine work locations and budget with individual orders, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The IDIQ has an ordering period of five years and covers the provision of 40 mm M918E2 cartridges to support live-fire exercises in both daylight and nighttime, according to solicitation documents.

The M918E2 High Velocity Target Practice Day/Night/Thermal training rounds are designed for the MK19 Grenade Machine Gun to allow Soldiers to carry out realistic training.

DOD expects work to conclude by May 12, 2029.
