Pratt & Whitney Secures $619M in F-35 Propulsion Tech Contract Funds

The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Raytheon Technologies-owned (NYSE: RTX) engine builder Pratt and Whitney a $619 million contract modification to procure lot 17 F-35 propulsion components and produce additional systems for the 15th and 16th batches of the fighter aircraft.

Pratt & Whitney will use a portion of the funds to obtain long-lead items for the 17th aircraft production lot in support of U.S. and foreign military sales customers and non-Department of Defense partners, the Pentagon said Thursday.

DOD added the business will deliver four F135-PW-600 propulsion systems to power lots 15 and 16 aircraft of non-U.S. DOD partners and FMS clients.

The department expects work under the contract modification to conclude in October 2030.
