DOE Releases Draft Solicitation for Hanford Site Occupational Medical Services Recompete

The Department of Energy has issued a draft request for proposals for the recompete of a contract to procure occupational medical services for personnel working on the Hanford Site, an inactive government-owned nuclear production complex in Washington state.

DOE is seeking industry feedback on preliminary RFP documents one year ahead of the expiration of incumbent HPM Corp.’s contract, which was awarded in 2019 and valued at $152 million.

The department plans to conduct a competitive solicitation to address an expected increase in health workers’ workload, as the site’s waste treatment and immobilization facility begins 24/7 operations.

A pre-solicitation briefing is scheduled for Dec. 20 to offer more information about the potential seven-year follow-on contract, which could include a 60-day transition period and a pair of 24-month options.
