Forward Networks’ Scot Wilson: Network Digital Twin Could Help Agencies Better Manage Multicloud Environments

Scot Wilson, technical solutions architect at Forward Networks, said agencies seeking to get better insights into operations and security of multicloud environments should implement a network digital twin.

“A digital twin can supply that single source of truth and ensure that applications are readable across clouds and on-premises systems and that the network’s security posture is not being invalidated,” Wilson wrote.

“A digital twin knows all the possibilities and can answer agencies’ questions about the most efficient, secure and cost-effective way to route cloud activities,” he added.

He explained the role of a network digital twin in zero trust architectures and how the technology could help agencies reduce the risk of insider threats and other cyberattacks.

Wilson discussed how tools like Forward Enterprise could benefit agencies. He explained that the Forward Enterprise platform could provide agencies with a network digital twin that could enable them to visualize networks, forecast the network’s behavior, validate policy implementations and “layer intent checks into their networks.”

“A tool like Forward Enterprise significantly improves IT administrators’ ability to verify that their networks are behaving exactly as intended across on-premises and cloud-based systems,” he added.
