Mercury Names William O’Brien Board Chairman, Adds Debora Plunkett as Director; Mark Aslett Quoted

William O’Brien, a member of Mercury Systems‘ (Nasdaq: MRCY) board of directors since 2008 and former chairman of its audit committee, has been named as the company’s new chairman.

He succeeds Vincent Vitto and brings to his new role 33 years of professional services industry experience that includes time as a global managing partner at PwC, Mercury said Wednesday.

Mark Aslett, president and CEO of Mercury and a 2021 Wash100 Award winner, noted that Vitto has provided guidance for the company’s business growth initiatives with this knowledge of the defense and aerospace market.

The company added that former National Security Agency official Debora Plunkett will serve as a director. She is the principal of consulting firm Plunkett Associates, and previously worked at NSA as director of information assurance at the National Security Agency and served on the White House’s National Security Council during the Clinton and Bush administrations.

Plunkett also sits on the boards of CACI International (NYSE: CACI), Nationwide Insurance and cybersecurity company BlueVoyant.
