Intelligent Artifacts Names Defense Vet Mike Edwards as Chief Growth Officer

Intelligent Artifacts has hired Mike Edwards, a former Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) executive, to serve as chief growth officer and drive the startup’s business growth initiatives.

Edwards will bring over three decades of experience in defense and government contracting to his new post and will now focus on securing opportunities to support customers from the Department of Defense and the intelligence community, the machine intelligence company said Thursday.

He will also collaborate with Intelligent Artifacts CEO Nick Cianciolo, Chief Strategy Officer David Verlander, Chief Operating Officer Mark Mackowiak and Chief Technology Office Sevak Avakians to create strategies for business development.

The newly appointed C-level executive spent years holding leadership roles within the DOD and the U.S. Air Force, as well as at Northrop, Maxar and other defense contractors.

Cianciolo recalled that Intelligence Artifacts has worked with Edwards when he was CEO at Elding Group, a Washington D.C.-based company that acted as the latter’s resource for DOD business development activities.

Based in New York City, Intelligent Artifacts delivers an artificial framework called GAIuS designed to address AI/machine learning gaps to support its clients in the defense, aerospace and emergency response sectors.
