Matt Donovan to Join Raytheon’s Intell & Space Business as Customer Engagement Lead; Roy Azevedo Quoted

Matt Donovan, most recently undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness, will serve as vice president of customer engagement and solutions at Raytheon Technologies’ (NYSE: RTX) intelligence and space business, effective Aug. 23.

He will directly report to Roy Azevedo, president of Raytheon Intelligence and Space and a 2021 Wash100 Award winner, as part of the senior leadership team of the RI&S business, the company said Tuesday.

“Matt brings a wealth of experience and understanding from his distinguished civil and military service,” said Azevedo.

Azevedo added that meeting customer commitments is a priority for the company and having Donovan on the team will help achieve that by offering platforms meant to address clients’ requirements.

Donovan’s federal service career included time as acting secretary of the Air Force, undersecretary of the Air Force and senior staff roles on the Senate Armed Services Committee.

He spent 31 years in the Air Force and retired from active duty as a colonel. He served as a commander of an F-15C squadron and as a command pilot of F-15C Eagle and F-5E Tiger II fighter jets.
