Accenture Federal Arm Gets $453M VA GI Bill Claims Processing Modernization Contract; Shawn Roman Quoted

The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded Accenture’s (NYSE: ACN) federal services arm a potential $453 million contract to help modernize VA’s GI Bill claims processing for military retirees, service members and their dependents.

Accenture Federal Services will lead a team of 12 subcontractors as they work to help VA transform the processing of education benefits and modernize other education and management platforms for the department’s Veterans Benefits Administration through the use of analytics, automation, user experience design and other information technology services under the Digital GI Bill Delivery Program, the company said Monday.

“Through the Digital GI Bill Delivery Program, we will help VA reduce its claims processing times through increased automation, enabling VA administrators and employees to focus on serving Veterans and providing a more productive veteran experience,” said Shawn Roman, managing director client account lead for VA at AFS.

AFS will also provide management consulting and IT services and configure the GI Bill Claims Processing and Management Service through the implementation of updates as mandated by the Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 under the contract, which has a base term of seven months and nine option years.
