10 Firms Get Transcom Contract Option for Worldwide Shipping Services

The U.S. Transportation Command has exercised a contract option for 10 companies to continue providing ocean and intermodal distribution services to the country's military personnel around the world.

The option period is scheduled to begin on Dec. 1 and will continue through Aug. 31 next year, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Eleven firms hold spots on the potential $739M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for international shipping services.

The modification awardees and details are provided below:

  • American President Lines – $142.7M
  • American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier – $85.4M
  • Farrell Lines – $63M
  • Hapag-Lloyd USA – $56.9M
  • Liberty Global Logistics – $69.5M
  • Matson Navigation – $72.4M
  • Maersk Line – $173M
  • Schuyler Line Navigation – $12.4M
  • TOTE Maritime’s Alaska and Puerto Rico businesses – $19.8M and $14.2M, respectively
  • Waterman Transport – $34.6M
