Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has appointed Steffanie Easter as vice president of strategy and planning for the company's defense systems group to support the strategic growth of customer accounts, SAIC announced Wednesday.

Easter joins SAIC with more than three decades of federal service experience in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. Prior to joining SAIC, Easter was director of the Navy Staff, where she served as the senior civilian and coordinated enterprise-level efforts across the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, where she provided support to the chief of Naval Operations and the secretary of the Navy.
She also served as the principal deputy and acting assistant secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology ASA(ALT). In the role, Easter supervised Army acquisition, procurement, research and development and logistics endeavors within the Army acquisition enterprise. Easter also oversaw the development of policies, programs and processes to streamline Army acquisition efforts.
Prior to her title with ASA(ALT), Easter served in a variety of senior leadership positions, including F-35 executive director with the U.S. Navy and assistant deputy chief of Naval Operations for Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education.
Easter also served as assistant commander for Acquisition for Naval Air Systems Command, and deputy program executive officer for Tactical Aircraft Programs.
