FDA Awards Four Spots on $90M Social Science Research BPA

Four commercial and nonprofit organizations have won positions on a five-year, $90M blanket purchase agreement to conduct social science research for the Food and Drug Administration, FedHealthIT reported Friday.

Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), Westat, the Research Triangle Institute and the American Institutes for Research hold spots on the Quick Turnaround Social Science Research Services BPA awarded under the General Services Administration’s Information Technology 70 contract vehicle.

According to a previous request for information, contractors will seek the input of healthcare professionals and consumers through surveys and related data collection instruments to support the FDA's behavioral research efforts.

The scope of work includes development of academic literature, nationwide consumer research activities and participant sampling and recruitment.

FDA received eight bids for the BPA, according to FedHealthIT's report.
