Joshua Marcuse Joins Google’s Public Sector Business
Joshua Marcuse, who served as executive director of the Defense Innovation Board for more than three years, as been tapped to serve as head of strategy and innovation at Google‘s (Nasdaq: GOOGL) global public sector segment, Defense One reported Friday.
He will bring 16 years of experience in the commercial, nonprofit and defense sectors to the search engine giant.
“One of the things about my last job that I cared about was building the bridge between Washington and Silicon Valley,” Marcuse told Defense One in an interview. That collaborative relationship is an important thing for our citizens getting the government they deserve and protecting our democratic values,” he added.
Prior to DIB, Marcuse served as senior adviser for policy innovation at the Pentagon, where he was part of the leadership and organizational development team under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.
He worked at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) as associate and at the Council on Foreign Relations as research associate earlier in his career. Marcuse is chairman of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, a nonprofit organization he established in 2004.
