In a statement published Wednesday, PDW CEO James Slider said small drone technology is a national security imperative and that the U.S. cannot risk lagging behind or depending on foreign supply chains.

“We are investing in expanded production capacity and a U.S.-anchored supply chain to ensure resilient, domestically built systems delivered at the highest level,” added Slider.

What Are the Details of the Series B Funding Round?

Ondas led the Series B round, with participation from Hood River, Cedar Pine, Hanwha Asset Management’s venture fund, Booz Allen Hamilton and other new and existing investors.

Houlihan Lokey acted as PDW’s exclusive financial adviser in the financing round.

What Is Performance Drone Works?

Performance Drone Works designs, engineers and produces unmanned systems and related platforms for defense and public safety customers. Its offerings include the C100 quadcopter, Attritable Multirotor, CORE mission planning software, SIM flight simulator, Multi-Mission Payloads, Range Extension Kit and an anti-jam radio. 

The Huntsville, Alabama-based company’s combat robotic systems and software are designed to deliver electronic warfare, surveillance and strike capabilities. It supports contracts with U.S. military services, as well as federal, local and international public safety agencies.

In 2024, the U.S. Army selected PDW and Anduril to supply small drones in support of its mission requirements.

PDW recently announced that its Attritable Multirotor strike drone has entered the production phase.
