GSA Selects Uber, Lyft for Potential $810M Federal Employee Transportation BPA

The General Services Administration has awarded Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) and Lyft spots on a five-year, $810M blanket purchase agreement for rideshare and ride-hail services to federal government workers who require transportation to perform official duties.

GSA announced the awards in separate notices posted Monday on the SAM website.

Both companies will provide a on-demand passenger booking system, multiple payment modes and consolidated billing options for agency customers through the BPA.

The agreement also covers provision of electronic receipts, data analytics for payments and costs, online portals for participating agencies and a program manager.

Work will take place in the contiguous U.S., Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico.
