Broadcom (Nasdaq: AVGO) has moved to expand its security portfolio through the acquisition of cyber risk analytics software provider Bay Dynamics, the Silicon Valley Business Journal reported Tuesday.

New York-based Bay Dynamics offers technology platforms designed to help customers detect unusual system behavior, identify malicious network insiders and prevent data loss.

Bay Dynamics previously worked with Symantec to ceate a behavioral analytics tool, called Risk Fabric.

Broadcom, a manufacturer of semiconductor and infrastructure software components, acquired enterprise security assets from Symantec in late 2019 for approximately $10.7B. The transaction resulted in the establishment of NortonLifeLock, a cybersecurity company headquartered in Tempe, Ariz.
