Boeing Closes Acquisition of Mobile Aviation App Provider ForeFlight


Boeing (NYSE: BA) finalized its acquisition of web-based and mobile flight applications provider ForeFlight for an undisclosed sum as part of the company’s growth strategy.

Ken Sain, vice president of digital solutions and analytics at Boeing, said in a statement published Wednesday the company will build on Foreflight’s accomplishments in the defense, business and personal aviation market to deliver integrated platforms to clients.

Sain added the transaction expands Boeing’s portfolio of digital services to compete in the $2.8T services market.

Houston-based Foreflight has worked with Boeing in the past two years to deliver Jeppesen’s aeronautical charts and data to pilots through its mobile platforms.
