Michael Moritzkat: Seagate Pursues FedRAMP Validation, Continued R&D on Data Storage

TYSONS CORNER, VA, August 7, 2018 — Michael Moritzkat, vice president and managing director of Seagate Technology‘s (Nasdaq: STX) government solutions business, has said the company is in the process of securing certification for its disks and storage subsystems under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program in line with federal security requirements and regulations.

Moritzkat told ExecutiveBiz in an interview published July 24 that Seagate Government Solutions will also release this year a heat-assisted magnetic recording disk technology designed to provide increased capacity with an eye toward the cloud and internet of things market, even as the company continues to invest in research and development for other data storage and protection capabilities.
