Lockheed Gives Preview of Prototype Habitat for NASA Deep Space Missions


TYSONS CORNER, VA, August 21, 2018 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has unveiled a prototype habitat structure that it has built for future NASA deep space missions as part of a research and development contract awarded in 2016, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday that the 22-foot-long cylindrical habitat, currently housed at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, is designed to house four astronauts for up to 60 days and is based on the Donatello Multi-Purpose Logistics Module that was built during the space shuttle era.
