Unisys to Deploy Updated Biometric Matching System to Australia


TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 21, 2018 — Unisys (NYSE: UIS) will work to deliver a new biometric matching technology for traveler screening and border clearance under an estimated $35 million contract from Australia’s department of home affairs, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

The company said Monday its Australian business will design and deploy the Enterprise Biometric Identification Services system, which is designed to match the facial and fingerprint data of incoming travelers against watchlists, as the country anticipates a surge in visa and citizenship applications and border clearance over the next decade.
