Lockheed Teams With Rheinmetall in Bid for Germany’s Helicopter Replacement Effort


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 7, 2018 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has entered into a partnership with Germany’s Rheinmetall to offer the Sikorsky-built CH-53K King Stallion helicopter in the team’s bid for a potential $4.9 billion helicopter procurement contract with the German military, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

Reuters reported Tuesday a request for information is anticipated in the latter half of this year for the contract that will work to replace Germany’s fleet of CH-53Gs with up to 60 new heavy-lift helicopters by 2023.
