Johns Hopkins APL Picks Gallant Technologies to Sell Canine Explosive-Detection Training Aid

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 21, 2018 — Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory has granted Gallant Technologies a license to produce and sell a lab-developed explosive detection training tool for canine teams, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

APL said Monday the technology works to help handlers train canines to detect homemade peroxide explosives without the logistical and safety issues associated with the use of live explosives, as well as misleading odors from stimulants that could potentially confuse the teams.
