TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 16, 2018 — A business unit of General Atomics will work to develop a portable medical device that serves to help the military detect exposure to infectious diseases as part of a contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The company said Wednesday General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems will build a prototype molecular diagnostic technology with sensors and disposable cartridges in efforts to enable lab-quality self-testing in the field to check for biological threats.
