Rick Lober: Hughes Eyes ‘New Space’ & Satcom Developments in Defense Marketplace

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 27, 2017 — Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of Hughes Network Systems‘ defense and intelligence systems unit, has said the company is working with partners such as OneWeb to pursue opportunities from the emergence of the “new space” or Space 2.0 sector in efforts to meet the connectivity needs of customers.

He told ExecutiveBiz in an interview published Nov. 14 that Hughes also continues to explore other satellite communications capabilities for the military as airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance is seen to be a rapidly growing segment in the defense market.
