HPE, Microsoft Vet Frank Vella Joins Information Builders as COO

Frank Vella

Frank Vella, formerly chief revenue officer at BlueJeans Network, has joined New York-based business intelligence and analytics platforms provider Information Builders as chief operating officer.

Vella will collaborate with Information Builders’ executive group to seek new market opportunities, support expansion efforts and create growth strategies, the company said Monday.

His appointment came six months after Goldman Sachs’ (NYSE: GS) private capital investing group made an equity investment in Information Builders to help the latter broaden its client base worldwide and advance product development efforts.

“We see this as the next step in the growth efforts initiated by the Goldman Sachs investment, and we look forward to working closely with Frank to action our plans,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO of Information Builders.

Vella previously worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) as vice president of worldwide sales and as COO at Virtustream.

He held VP roles at Quest Software for four years and spent nearly a decade at Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) as general manager and managing director of the software firm’s financial services industry practice.

Prior to Microsoft, Vella also worked at General Electric (NYSE: GE) as VP of sales and as account executive at Xerox (NYSE: XRX).
