January 3 Market Close: GovCon Index Continues Strong 2016 Performance Into New Year


Executive Mosaic’s GovCon Index moved higher Tuesday on broad gains among defense primes  as U.S. stocks closed significantly higher with the Dow Jones Industrial flirting with the 20, 000 mark.

GovCon Index gainers outnumbered laggards by a 3-to-1 ratio Tuesdayy and nine of its 11 S&P 500 components advanced with co-listed McKesson Corp. (NYSE:MCK) and Huntington Ingalls (NYSE: HII) overalltop net advancer.
