TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 19, 2017 — Advanced Concepts and Technologies International has appointed Phil Simonsen, a space and intelligence community veteran, as its new senior executive for space and cyber programs, GovCon Executive reported Wednesday.

The company said Simonsen will work to identify and pursue new business opportunities with the National Reconnaissance Office and Air Force Space Command as part of his new role.

“Mr. Simonsen has over 28 years of results-oriented government national security space executive leadership; program management; engineering; program planning, budgeting, and policy; and operations experience, ” said ACT I CEO Michael Niggel.

Niggel added that Simonsen’s experience in planning and leading space system programs will support ACT I’s efforts to expand its space and cyber initiatives.
