Executive Mosaic, Tysons Corner, VA April 5, 2016 — Iridium (Nasdaq: IRDM) CEO Matt Desch has been inducted into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list of the most influential leaders in GovCon for leading the company’s NEXT satellite constellation project.

The Wash100 is the premier group of private and public sector leaders selected by Executive Mosaic’s organizational and editorial leadership as the most influential voices in the GovCon sector and recognized for their push to drive vision, innovation and achievement on behalf of American citizens.

The two-time inductee has held his current position since 2006 and led Iridium through the NASDAQ stock market initial public offering in 2008 and the merger with special purpose acquisition company GHL Acquisition Corp in 2009.

The company announced in 2015 the Iridium NEXT 66-satellite constellation program which has a projected initial launch of 10 satellites in July 2016 aboard a SpaceX rocket and is planned to have full-operational network status by 2017.

Once fully operational, the “NEXT” constellation will work to enable mobile communications with 100-percent coverage for customers worldwide.

“The resilient GovCon market is primed for an exciting year of growth and recovery in 2016. The leaders that will demonstrate skills in leadership, innovation, reliability, achievement, and vision are included in our selection of this year’s 2016 Wash100 awards, ” said Jim Garrettson, President and Founder of Executive Mosaic.

Garrettson went on to say “These winners represent those leaders with standing in the GovCon community most like to shape the big events of 2016.”
