new-microsoft-logo_EMTYSONS CORNER, VA, February 19, 2016 — Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) will deploy its Windows 10 operating system across 4 million seats at the Defense Department after Pentagon CIO Terry Halvorsen‘s follow-up on a previous memo to standardize the OS across DoD, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Company officials said in separate posts Wednesday that the department’s move to adopt Windows 10 works to support efforts to protect defense IT networks, update IT processes and control IT costs.
