Harris Completes Installation of NASA Webb Telescope’s 9th Flight Mirror


James Webb Space Telescope JWSTTYSONS CORNER, VA, January 4, 2016 — The segmented primary mirror of NASA‘s James Webb Space Telescope is halfway to completion after Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) finished the installation of its ninth flight mirror, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

NASA said Tuesday the mirrors used are built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies, which is Northrop Grumman‘s (NYSE: NOC) principal subcontractor for Webb’s optical technology and lightweight mirror system.

The installation’s scheduled completion date is early this year.
