TYSONS CORNER, VA, December 9, 2015 — Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) CIO Bob Fecteau and Vencore CTO Barry Barlow have discussed ways to address the cyber workforce shortfall during a recent conference in Virginia, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

GCN reported Friday Fecteau suggested cybersecurity certifications for students while Barlow pointed to community colleges as potential sources of future cyber talent.

“I think we have to create a really strategic pathway that starts off with a certificate, ” Fecteau said at the Commonwealth Conference on Cyber and Education.

“[We’re] going to see a shift and as much as 40 percent of the cyber workforce will be graduates of community colleges with certificates, ” added Barlow.
