Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) CEO Kelly Ortberg has taken the additional role as chairman of the aviation technology maker’s board of directors.
Former Chairman Anthony Carbone will transition into the lead independent director position with the board, Rockwell Collins said Wednesday.
“This appointment reflects the confidence the board of directors has in Kelly, and the respect he has earned through his leadership as CEO and president of Rockwell Collins, †said Carbone.
As CEO,  Ortberg has led the company’s $1.4 billion acquisition of ARINC in 2013.
