Engility Holdings (NYSE: EGL) will help lead implementation work for the U.S. Agency for International Development‘s Growth, Enterprise, Employment and Livelihood project in Somalia under a five-year, $74 million contract.

The company said Tuesday the project works to provide small and midsize Somali enterprises access to business services and opportunities and stimulate private investment activity.

“This award expands Engility’s private-sector engagement and investment promotion work in Africa, where we are supporting multiple USAID programs in several countries, “ said Tony Smeraglinolo, president and CEO of Engility.

Other GEEL goals include higher employment potential for women and youth and the reform of local business policies and regulations.
