CRN: Raytheon Cyber JV Inks Deal for McAfee Firewall Businesses

CyberStockA cybersecurity joint venture majority-owned by Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has agreed to acquire the McAfee Firewall Enterprise and Next-Generation Firewall businesses from Intel’s (Nasdaq: INTC) security arm, CRN reported Tuesday.

Raytheon|Websense CEO John McCormack told employees in a memo obtained by CRN the acquisition seeks to expand the venture’s security talent base and Triton security offering’s hybrid cloud functions.

The joint venture will add 300 new employees through the deal, according to the report by Sarah Kuranda.

Raytheon holds an 80.3-percent stake in the Raytheon|Websense joint venture created in June through a $1.9 billion transaction between the defense contractor and Vista Equity Partners.
