DLA awarded a contract worth $1 billion to Cardinal Health 200 and $240 million to Owens and Minor Distribution in exercise of the second of two 20-month options under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Defense Department said Thursday.
The companies will carry out work through April 2017 in 29 states across the U.S., including Illinois, Massachusetts and Virginia.
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support will finance the contracts using fiscal 2015 and 2016 defense working capital funds.
DoDâs Tricare program works to provide pharmacy benefits, dental care and other medical services for active-duty members, retirees and their families.
