Army Selects 5 Companies for Rapid Prototyping Program Munitions Tech


ContractThe U.S. Army has chosen five companies to work on the design and development of next-generation munitions under the $200 million Rapid Prototyping and Technology Initiative – Generation 2 program, Military & Aerospace reported Tuesday.

John Keller writes that the contractors will work with the Army Armament, Research, Development and Engineering Center through June 2020 to produce new armaments and munitions.

The selected companies are:

  • Middle Bay Solutions
  • Savit Corp.
  • Subsystem Technologies
  • TRC Defense Systems
  • Universal Technical Resource Services

Keller reports that the RPTI-GEN2 program aims to provide munitions technologies that meet changing Army requirements in the battlefield.

Contract work will cover the areas of materials and processes, component fabrication and equipment, product assembly, systems engineering and integration, testing support and engineering services, the report said.
