Vencore, Engility Among M&A Deals Cited in ACG Awards; Mac Curtis, Tony Smeraglinolo Comment

TYSONS CORNER, VA May 5, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — ACG National Capital has named this year’s winners of its annual Corporate Growth Awards to recognize the mergers and acquisition deals that made the most impact in the Washington D.C. region over the past 12 months, GovCon Executive reported Monday.

Vencore President and CEO Mac Curtis, whose move to absorb QinetiQ North America’s services group landed one of two spots for Strategic Deal of the Year honors, said Friday the transaction helped widen his company’s customer base.

“The deal also increased Vencore’s position in the intelligence community and significantly increased the number of Vencore’s contract vehicles, customer footprint and market offerings, ” he added.

Tony Smeraglinolo’s Engility (NYSE: EGL) team was cited for Dealmaker of the Year in the Public Company category for what the chief executive called “transformative” purchases of TASC and Dynamics Research Corp.

Both Smeraglinolo and Curtis are inductees into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2015.
