Chuck Robbins, senior vice president of worldwide operations at Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO), has been appointed CEO of the company and joined the board of directors.
He will succeed current Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers, who will take the role of executive chairman of the board on July 26, the company said Monday.
In his SVP role, Robbins oversees Ciscoâs global sales and partner team and the company says he helped to execute the companyâs partner program, which generates more than $40 billion in annual revenue at present.
Robbins developed Ciscoâs commercial business segment strategy that led to the businessâ 8 percent year-over-year growth in the last quarter.
Chambers, who has served as CEO of Cisco since 1995, will support Robbins and collaborate with customers and governments worldwide in digitization projects.
