ManTech Buys Welkin Associates From CSC; George Pedersen Comments

ManTech International (NASDAQ: MANT) has acquired former Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE: CSC) subsidiary Welkin Associates under a $34 million cash transaction as ManTech eyes engineering opportunities with the defense and intelligence sectors.

ManTech said Tuesday Welkin will be part of its mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group under the leadership of Bill Varner.

“This acquisition is consistent with ManTech’s strategy to expand and strengthen our presence in high-end intelligence markets, ” said ManTech CEO George Pedersen.

Welkin is based in Chantilly, Virginia, and provides systems engineering and business services as well as national security technologies to the Defense Department and Intelligence Community.
