VMware (NYSE: VMW) has acquired Immidio, provider of user environment management, for an undisclosed amount in a move to help clients transition to mobile cloud platform.
Sumit Dhawan, senior vice president and general manager of desktop products for VMware, said Tuesday the acquisition is intended to expand VMwareâs technologies for managing workspace environment.
VMware will integrate Immidio into the companyâs Horizon portfolio of UEMÂ services.
VMware has also updated its vSphere 6 and software-defined data center within the VMware Horizon 6 suite of products with the launch of NVIDIA GRID vGPU for three-dimensional application access, VMware Virtual SAN 6 for hypervisor-converged storage service and the VMware EVO: RAIL virtual desktop service.
