Julie Bowen Named MITRE VP, General Counsel; Alfred Grasso Comments

Julie Bowen has been appointed to the vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary roles at MITRE Corp.

The cybersecurity and intellectual property law veteran joined MITRE in 2006 as associate general Mitre logocounsel, with responsibility in the organization’s technology transfer office, MITRE said Tuesday.

Bowen will lead MITRE’s legal team in advising the company’s executives on the legal aspects of cybersecurity, contracting, intellectual property, healthcare, real estate and national security.

“We welcome her astute counsel on emerging issues facing our organization and her guidance on our government outreach efforts, ” said Alfred Grasso, MITRE president and CEO.

She will also be responsible for the organization’s government relations department, which works to monitor regulations affecting MITRE’s programs.
