Rakesh Narasimhan Named Citrix Desktop Virtualization VP, GM

 Citrix logo_GovConWireRakesh Narasimhan has been appointed as the group vice president and general manager of Citrix‘s desktop virtualization business.

The 25-year industry veteran Narasimhan will be responsible for helping the business strategize its approach and oversee products such as Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp, the company announced Monday.

Narasimhan joins Citrix from InstallFree, where he served as president and CEO.

He also spent 15 years at Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), where he served as GM for several of the software maker’s business lines.

Those lines included Microsoft’s Windows Server, SQLServer, Microsoft Azure, Windows Client, data protection, storage and security products.
