Janet Foutty, national managing director of the federal consulting practice at Deloitte Consulting LLP, has been appointed to also serve as leader of Deloitte‘s federal practice.

She succeeds Maritza Montiel, who will continue as deputy CEO of Deloitte LLP, and also serve as senior partner and adviser to the federal practice, Deloitte said Thursday.

Jim Moffatt, chairman and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP, said Foutty will work to apply her experience in commercial sector technology and financial services in her work with federal agencies.

Foutty, a 22-year Deloitte veteran, served as technology managing director prior to her promotion to head the federal consulting practice and helped launch several new businesses, including Deloitte Digital.

She has also served on the firm’s financial services industry leadership team, the women’s initiative leadership council and the diversity and inclusion leadership council.
