Tom McCabe to Join Orbital Sciences Jan. 6 as SVP, General Counsel & Secretary

Tom McCabe_Alion Science and Technology_Em Tom McCabe will join space technology firm Orbital Sciences Corp. as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary on Jan. 6, 2014, and will lead the company’s legal, regulatory affairs and ethics and compliance functions out of Dulles, Va.

McCabe brings more than 20 years of executive legal and operations leadership at high-technology companies and currently serves as SVP and general counsel at Alion Sciences and Technology Corp., Orbital said Monday.

A former vice president and deputy general counsel at XM Satellite Radio, McCabe earlier held senior legal and financial positions at GRC International after serving as a partner at law firm McCarthy and Burke.

McCabe previously served as a judicial law clerk in U.S. District Court to Judge C.R. Richey and holds graduate law and business degrees from Notre Dame and an undergraduate degree from Georgetown.
