Charlton Walker Named Northrop Info Systems Sector Counsel; Sheila Cheston Comments

Charlton Walker, an 11-year Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) veteran, has been appointed vice president, associate general counsel and sector counsel for the company’s information systems division.

The appointment takes effect Dec. 1, where he will advise the sector president and senior staff members as well as manage legal advice delivery throughout the sector,  Northrop said Friday.

He will also oversee legal matters involving investigations, business development, government and commercial deals, intellectual property, environmental, compliance and employment.

Sheila Cheston, Northrop corporate vice president and general counsel,  said Walker has given legal advice to the company and their clients for about 20 years.

Walker, currently a sector assistant general counsel and lead defense systems division counsel, will report to Cheston in his new role.

Before joining Northrop, Walker was a judge advocate for the U.S. Air Force and worked for the National Security Agency‘s acquisition counsel.

Walker is a graduate of Oglethorpe University and obtained his political science master’s degree and juris doctorate degree from Duke University.
