SAP Acquires Predictive Analytics Provider KXEN; Michael Reh Comments

SAP-logo-EbizSAP AG (NYSE: SAP) has acquired predictive analytics service provider KXEN as part of efforts to expand offerings for customers to handle large volumes of data.

SAP intends to integrate the San Francisco, Calif.-based company into its SAP HANA offerings such as the fraud management analytic application, Smart Meter Analytics software and the 360 customer service, SAP said Tuesday.

Michael Reh, executive vice president of business information technology, products and innovation at SAP, said the consolidation of KXEN’s analytics portfolio into SAP’s business intelligence and agile visualization platforms aims to help organizations manage their growing data environments.

KXEN’s technologies will work to complement SAP’s predictive analysis tool for managing business operations, customer relations, supply chain, risk and fraud with the goal of aiding customers in making decisions.

The acquisition is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2013 and SAP intends to expand its predictive analytics portfolio for telecommunications, retail, consumer products, manufacturing and financial services customers.
