MITRE to Run Natl Security Engineering Center for $626M

Mitre logoMITRE Corp. has received a $626.2 million contract from the U.S. Army to help manage a federally funded research and development center focused on national defense and intelligence strategies.

The nonprofit organization will help operate the National Security Engineering Center under incremental funding from fiscal 2013 research, development, testing and evaluation funds, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

NSEC works with defense and intelligence communities such as all military service branches, the Defense Information Systems Agency and the offices of the Joint Chiefs of the Staff and defense secretary.

Work under the cost-option-eligible, non-multi-year contract will occur in McLean, Va.
