The 59-year-old veteran, who was a Yahoo Inc. board member from 2005 to 2012 and is currently a Wipro Ltd. director, retired last year after serving HP for more than three decades, Harris said Tuesday.
According to Harris CEO and President William M. Brown, Joshi intends to use his commercial technology background and international experience in support of the company’s corporate goals.
As executive VP at HP, Joshi managed global operations of the company’s imaging and printing business.
In that role, he was responsible for worldwide printing, scanning and digital camera platforms and started at the company as an engineer in 1980.
He graduated from the Ohio State University with a master’s degree in electrical engineering and is a dean’s advisory council member at the University of California, San Diego’s Rady School of Management.
