Software AG Buys Software Firm JackBe, Unveils New Analytics Platform; Wolfram Jost Comments

SoftwareAGlogoSoftware AG has acquired intelligence software company JackBe Corp. for an undisclosed amount and introduced a new analytics platform intended to work with JackBe’s technologies.

Software AG’s new webMethods intelligent business operations platform will use JackBe’s mashup, analytic and visualization offerings, Software AG said Thursday.

The new platform works to integrate live, historical and transactional data with machine-to-machine communications and aim to help executives and managers view processes and make decisions.

Wolfram Jost, Software AG chief technology officer, said the company intends to further develop services for customers to use in their digital enterprises with JackBe’s portfolio.

JackBe’s customer base includes clients in the federal government, financial services and the manufacturing sectors.

The company’s headquarters are in Chevy Chase, Md. and JackBe also maintains an research and development facility in Silicon Valley and its Latin American regional office in Mexico City.

Software AG intends to consolidate JackBe’s Presto portfolio into its products and services.
